Is calling out your competition in advertising good or bad marketing?
One of the most notable rivalries in advertising history would certainly go to the great cola warriors Coca-Cola and Pepsi. They’ve probably done more direct finger pointing, and eye poking for the last 30 years than anyone, but they’re certainly not the only brands that do.
Recently Windows launched their Windows 8 Tablet campaign where they go squarely toe-to-toe with the iPad. As an Apple fan boy I can say “they’re full of it” but as a marketing guy I think their commercials are clever and funny – what say you?
