Just Dance 2014 – Bad Marketing? False Advertising? Or just Plain Ridiculous?

Did I just take a ride in Doc’s time machine and wake up in the future? Because I swear that says Just Dance 2014 and it’s actually 2013!

I’ll make this rant short …

How can Ubisoft justify releasing a game in 2013 (was released Oct 14th 2013) that entirely revolves around music produced in 2013 and naming it 2014? This makes no sense! With sports titles it works because the season spans across two years and players, coaches, etc., have already been determined. I would even understand titling a game 2014, with new content, and pre-releasing during holiday season.

This, however, is a lie! The playlist is clearly music produced in 2013. Why not just release it midway through 2014 with new music? Or better yet, produce a holiday version. This is simply a case of a brand exploiting it’s users to increase sales during the holiday season.
