Absolutely brilliant! As a parent of 2 young kids and a marketer in the tech industry, this ad rings true on so many levels, a bit scary, but true.
Recently MTS India, one of India’s largest 3G suppliers, launched an online campaign dubbed I am the #MTSInternetBaby followed by the tagline born to #ExploitTheWeb with the new superior 3GPLUS™ network.
The video has close to 7 million views already and according to hashtracking.com the #MTSInternetBaby averages 10,000+ tweets per month with roughly a 77% retweet rate – not bad! It’s too early to tell if this campaign is converting new leads but it has definitely been good for brand equity.
The ad is a great mashup of the classic dancing baby meets the evian live young dancing babies in a world of high tech toys. My guess, this video has only just started its upward spiral towards virality. It will be interesting to see what happens when westerners pick up on this.
